Using ACP for Innovative Composite Part Analysis - ANSYS e-Learning

Design of robust composite parts requires complex analysis techniques beyond standard methods to evaluate material and part performance.  The advantages of using various forms of composites in design (weight and strength efficiency, durability, etc...) often drives us to take on this analysis challenge.  Using ANSYS Composite PrepPost (ACP) in the Workbench simulation environment can be a significant advantage in streamlining and generating increased accuracy in your modern composite part design cycle.

During this 30 minute ANSYS e-Learning session, CAE Associates Engineering Manager George Bauer will discuss:

  • Creating and managing materials, ply stackups, ply boundaries, and orientation.
  • Composite layup verification tools.
    Use of parameters for variable design.
  • Modeling approach:
    • Surface model/shell elements
    • Automatic extrusion and forming to create 3D layered solids.
  • Integrating with other parts in a solid model assembly.
  • Composite-specific postprocessing and evaluation.
