Integrated Statistical Stress Life Analysis Methodology Utilizing Local Stress Fields
This paper, co-authored by CAE Associates' engineers George Bauer and Tom Meyer, was given the Best Paper Award in the Structures & Materials category by the American Helicopter Society at their 2010 Annual Forum in Phoenix, AZ .
George Bauer and Tom Meyer, while working with Mike Urban from Sikorsky Aircraft, developed a novel approach to fatigue and durability of metals. This new stress life approach defines and benchmarks analytical and test methods utilizing modern finite element technology, statistics, complete building block test and correlation, and life management processes.
