Hex Meshing Possibilities for CFD Analysis - ANSYS e-Learning

It is well known that a hexahedral (hex) mesh has many benefits when used for a CFD analysis, including efficient boundary layer resolution, reduced total element count, smaller numerical diffusion vs. a tet mesh, etc. However, flow domains are often quite complex in many industrial applications, which makes generating a hex mesh both challenging and time-consuming. However, you can take advantage of the combination of DesignModeler and Workbench meshing methods to save you time and effort, and use hex meshing for parts or all of the flow domain.
