Generating Inflation Layers for CFD - ANSYS e-Learning

Resolving the boundary layer in wall bounded flows is critical for accuracy and capturing the near wall flow physics while conducting CFD calculations. For complex geometries, generating a suitable inflation layer can be quite challenging. ANSYS Workbench Meshing has several options and tools to aid in the generation of high quality inflation layers. Options such as previewing the inflation layer before it is applied to the final mesh, saves valuable time during the meshing process.

During this e-Learning session CAE Associates demonstrates the 3D inflation generation capabilities in ANSYS Workbench.

Topics Covered:

  • Overview of available inflation methods
  • Global and local mesh controls
  • Collision avoidance options
