Analysis of Elevator Cab Assembly for Strength & Dynamic Response

A complete assembly model of an elevator car has been created by CAE Associates in order to characterize the dynamic response of the unit. Modal and harmonic response analyses were conducted in order to obtain the mode shapes and natural frequencies, along with system transfer functions at key locations in the structure. This information was provided to the customer, who uses it to evaluate the vibration of the system with respect to the quality of the ride in the elevator. For this project, CAE Associates created models of one system, while coaching the customer in the application of the finite element method for future product developments.
