Composites Analysis with ANSYS ACP

Prerequisites

B.S. in engineering or engineering experience.  Course assumes proficiency with ANSYS Mechanical and the Workbench Environment and understanding of composite laminate theory.

Access to ANSYS Mechanical and ANSYS Composite PrepPost (ACP) software (v15).

Description

This online ANSYS training course will introduce students to the ANSYS Composite PrepPost (ACP) software to analyze composite parts.  Design of robust composite parts requires complex analysis techniques beyond standard methods to evaluate material and part performance.  The advantages of using various forms of composites in design lie in weight and strength efficiency, durability, and much more.  Using ANSYS Composite PrepPost (ACP) in the Workbench simulation environment can provide a significant advantage in streamlining and generating increased accuracy in your modern composite part design cycle. Workshops are provided in this ANSYS training course to demonstrate features.

Day 1 - 10:00am - 12:00pm - Lecture

Day 2 - 10:00am 12:00pm - Instructor-Led Workshop Session and Q&A period

Topics Include:

  • Linking ACP with Workbench Analysis
  • Defining ply stackups
  • Defining ply boundaries, and orientations
  • Composite layup verification tools
  • Composite-specific postprocessing and evaluation

Online Course Information

This course consists of a 2 hour lecture session on Day 1. Day 2 consists of a two-hour instructor led workshop session and question and answer period.  A total of 4 PE credits will be awarded for attendance, after the completion of a course evaluation.

Instructions detailing how to obtain necessary course files, including manuals and workshop files, will be sent to you upon registration. 

Online courses are hosted using WebEx.
