Have you ever needed to run a short-duration transient dynamic analysis on a model for which you already ran a static analysis? For example, you may have run a static stress analysis on a new design and now you need to run a drop test analysis. Explicit dynamics solvers such as ANSYS/LS-Dyna and ANSYS/Explicit are well suited to these problems because they are efficient and robust for high energy dynamics analyses.
Unfortunately, there's no single command or switch that can be used to convert models to the form needed for explicit solvers. This document provides a summary of the steps required to convert an ANSYS database to an ANSYS/LS-Dyna database.
